Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday paid a short visit to the provincial metropolitan and held meetings with Governor NWFP Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah and Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani here at Governor House. He also attended the marriage ceremony of son of Governor Balochistan Owais Ahmed Ghani here at the Governor House.

The Prime Minister also held meetings with the Governor NWFP. They discussed various matters with special reference to the welfare of the people and development of the province as well as the adjoining tribal areas.

Meanwhile Chief Minister Muhammad Akram Khan Durrani also called on the Prime Minister at the Governor House and remained there for some time and exchanged views with him with regard to the development of the province.

The governor was present in the meeting.

The ceremony was attended among others by Chairman Senate Muhammadmian Soomro, Chaudhry Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Ehsan ul Haq, former Chairman CJ CS General Muhammad Aziz (Retd), Chairman Higher Education Commission Professor Atta-ur-Rehman, Chief of Pukhtoonkhwa Awami Party Mehmud Khan Achakzai MNA, and noted figures from all the four provinces.

Earlier, at the airport, the Prime Minister was received by Governor Lieutenant General Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah (Retd) and Chief Minister Muhammad Akram Khan Durrani.
